A few weeks ago a major blow was struck against the Williams Pipeline when the Cuomo administration denied the project’s water quality permit. But at the same time they allowed the company to reapply, which they promptly did.
In case you forgot, this pipeline would run along communities hard hit by Superstorm Sandy (Staten Island, Coney Island, the Rockaways) and it would:
- Promote fracking
- Maintain our reliance on fossil fuels
- Exacerbate climate change
- Threaten local communities
- Endanger marine life
Now is the time to pressure Governor Cuomo to stop the project once and for all.
