Join us on Friday December 6 to demand solutions to the climate crisis.
When: Friday 12/6/19 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm
Where: Begins at City Hall Park and ends at Foley Square
The next youth-led mass climate mobilization and strike in New York City will be held on Friday December 6th from 12-3 pm. Students from high-schools across NYC will be gathering at City Hall Park to demand action from the elected officials to do something about the climate crisis. The demonstration will encircle City Hall and end with a rally at Foley Square. The youth are focusing on the element of FIRE. Wearing red, orange, yellow, and black is encouraged for everyone, everywhere.
The strikes build on the momentum of September 20th Climate Strike, the largest youth-led climate mobilization in US history. With over 650,000 people in the United States striking across over 1,300 events, and 7 million worldwide, September 20 was a call for elected officials to rise up and address the climate emergency urgently.
In the US, youth and adults, institutional and grassroots organizations, climate-focused and social justice groups are once again coming together as a unified front to demand the change we need to save our future.
As an intergenerational and intersectional movement, the December 6 Climate Strike is another opportunity to count on our collective power in demanding immediate and decisive action, while continuing to expand the table of who is involved in the climate movement.
As a global society, we remain at a crossroads with a critical decision to make. Will we choose money and greed, or will we choose us, the future of humanity?
